Parallel Plates
Definition of Parallel Plates
Parallel plates are flat metallic or conductive surfaces separated by a constant distance. Parallel plates can be used to separate and store charge. The capacitance of the plates is proportional to the area of the plates and the relative permitivity of the dielectric between the plate, and inversely proportional to the distance between the plates.
