Weight and Net Force
1. Draw a free body diagram for an object being lifted near the Earth's surface:
a. Where the lifting force is greater than the weight;
b. Where the lifting force is less than the weight;
c. Where the lifting force is the same size as the weight.
2. Describe the motion in each of the cases above.
3. Write a net force equation in terms of weight (W) and the lifting force (L).
